Biblical Discourses on Giving & Worship

There is a general charismatic-Pentecostal colouration that has been given to the very important subject matters of giving and worship: giving has been largely twisted to be a grease-my-palm-while-I-grease-yours exchange between the believer and God, while worship has been wrongly presented as a sentimental connection enterprise, prosecuted through lush music and soul-electrifying instrumentation, between the believer and God.

Believers are taught to sustain a transactional mindset in dealing with God, to give so that they can be blessed (not true), to give their way out of troubles (not true) and that they can give their way to material wealth (not true) etc.

There are angst, weariness, suspicion and outright disquiet in many quarters in the body of Christ among believers who have subscribed to this transactional model of giving with nothing but heartaches and disappointments. Consequently, some of these believers, upon being painfully disillusioned, just throw all caution to the wind and call biblical giving itself a scam.

Worship transcends music and baroque instrumentation; it is anything that the believer does and/or does not do which gives God pleasure because God created everything for His pleasure.

Music and sound are very powerful worship tools but have been unfortunately turned into an industry with mammon at the helm of affairs. This book delves into the infallibility of Scriptures to recover the powerful truths on giving and worship.
